Hi All,

It is time for this month’s news from Kariong Rural Fire Brigade.

As the colder months begin, the Rural Fire Service and other agencies begin the annual Hazard Reduction season. Residents can expect to see and smell smoke across the Central Coast as fire fighters take advantage of favourable weather to conduct Hazard reduction burns. Visit the NSW RFS website for more information on upcoming burns, by following the link: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/hazard-reductions

Hazard reductions are subject to weather and operational requirements and therefore may be cancelled and rescheduled. Residents will be notified of planned burns and/ or cancellations as required.

The brigade would like to remind residents to only call 000 to report smoke or fire if there is no fire truck present. During hazard reductions there is often an increase in false alarm calls.

Be Safe and Stay Firewise!
